Service Analysis

Why Do this?

To set out the current state in terms of who does what within the service, before considering potential workforce changes to improve patient care.

This is a key step in implementing the Calderdale Framework. It should be done with a working group of the front line staff working in the service, since they have expertise ‘on the ground’ on how the service functions and who does what now. This stage ensures the patient is put at the heart of potential changes to how the workforce is used and developed

How do I do this?

Utilise the CF service analysis tools to undertake service analysis or pathway analysis.

What Should I expect after Service Analysis?

You should now have:

  1. An overview of what your service does
  2. Identified who currently does what
  3. Identified potential ideas for change to meet patient needs
  4. Mapped tasks to existing CF competency library
